The Romanian Orthodox Parish of “The Nativity of the Mother of God”

is under the jurisdiction of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe, in Paris (Romanian Orthodox Patriarchat).

With the blessing of His Eminence Mitropolitan Iosif we served our first liturgy in April 2007 in St. Nicholas’ Church (Fishtoft Road, Boston) mainly for the Romanians living in this area. Shortly after, we started to keep services in Grantham at St John’s Church (Station Road).

In 2012 we managed to secure a long term lease on the Kirton Cemetery Chapel and in November, same year, we moved over, and we transformed this place into our Orthodox Church. Since then we kept all our services here.

In time, alongside the Romanian group, other orthodox nationalities have joined us: Greeks, English, Estonians, Russians and now we are a community of multy nationality christians.

We use English as the main language but we speak Romanian or Greek according to the needs.
